Hey guys looking for some help....:confused::confused:

Ive been hearing that theres a way to put a dvd collection on to a type of harddrive and then use this with my H.E system instead of having to put each individual dvd in when I want to watch it..... Am I making any sense????

My H.E system isn't hooked up to my P.C, it's stand alone....

I'd be talking in the region of 200 standard dvds....

    Cheers.

How aú fait are you with Linux? Most of the utilities and libraries that bypass the encryption on dvds are available for linux varients and are basically free which is not the case (as far as I have found) with Windows.

It probably is possible, I'll let someone else tell you if it is, but I use Mac The Ripper and Handbrake (depending on what type of copy I want) on the Apple.

There are quite a few tools to do this. The one I use is DVDFab (not free but has a decent eval period) which I use to create an ISO image of the bits of the DVD I want (usually just the movie and one soundtrack). Then I use HandBrake to convert the ISO to a H.264 encode in an MKV file.
