My insurance is up at the end of November so waiting on that lovely letter from my insurance company informing me of the fact and the second letter informing me of how much of a fantastic deal they are going to give me renewing my policy.. Which it never is by the way..

I've chatted with a few friends recently who have renewed their policy and all have said they have noticed big increases in their policies..

I've started shopping around just in case and most wont give me a quote as my policy isnt up for over a month and I haven't been told from my current insurer how much the policy renewal will be..

So has anyone out there experienced the same premium increases this year???

My insurance company wanted to put my insurance up from €500 to almost €950. So a shopped around and got the equivalent coverage for €480 :D

Not really, Quinn wanted around the same as last year for me Alfa 156 1.9 JTDM, 123 offered a better package for €100 less.

Mine went up from €700 to €900, my ma rang up and gave them a piece of her mind and they brought it back down to €700 :o (local branch is managed by a family friend which would explain my ma getting involved, still mildly embarrassing though)

    Don't mess with Ma's :)

Insured 2 cars recently enough and got both cheaper than last year. Both quotes came in dearer initally but bit of shoping around and got them to match the cheapest quote. Happy days. Try insure.ie and chill.ie for online quotes.

Mine's been dropping year on year, not by much mind you but still going in the right direction. 2.0l with Quinn. About 4 years ago they put it up, I left them for Hibernian. Following year Quinn undercut them so we're friends again.

I was with Axa for years and they tried to screw me, so I walked and they have been sending me crap ever since in the post, but not a chance I'll go near them again..

With FBD now and I have to say they are good. Only issue I had was someone put my side window in and they sorted is straight away so would be a shame to walk away if they tried to hike the price. Lets just wait and see what they come up with as I havent got my renewal notice yet..

Same here, got mine in post other day, insurance up end of month. I dread doing the ringing around bit. But went on to 123 online and got €100 cheaper...hmm.

I will see if I can do the usual ping pong with my insurance now and get it €100 cheaper...

Depends on the insurer - some companies like Hibernian have raised their premiums , Im sure they will all follow suit eventually.
