The concerns over a zombie style outbreak as a result of the vacine was my first worry also

I think everything leads to zombies!!

As for the jab, not a chance. Why would I? I don't get the jab for normal flu!!

I'd rather a jab than be laid up for two weeks.

    edit- add a poll!!!

Nope no plans to at the moment. I know two people who have had the dreaded flu and got over it okay so I think I would rather take my chances with that .

60 euro to visit a doctor just so I can get a jab for a bad cold?

    Eh, no.

I'm getting the one with extra autism in it

I got it a few weeks ago. No probs with it.

We've been giving it for a while here in Oz with no problems.

The vaccine is made of components that have been used for many years in other vaccines.

The studies so far show it's safe.

Even if you don't regard yourself at risk of normal flu, bear in mind A) we've never had a flu in living memory where most people at risk of dying are under 50. B) the whole thing about underlying medical conditions is overplayed. 30% of deaths are in previously healthy people C) The vaccine isn't made to just protect you as an individual. It's designed so you don't get it and infect pregnant women and disabled kids etc

I think you might have been played! For future reference, I believe the vacine's a syringe in the arm

And we all know that AIDS is only passed on by cocks in arses.

    Thanks for that Doctor.

Personally I'm not getting the vaccine seeing as I can't get swineflu because I'm dead inside.

    That's how it works, right?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 777 ✭✭✭Mayoegian

I think it's unnecessary for anyone to get the vaccine, other than people with underlying health problems. They are the ones who are most affected.

I had the Swine Flu, and it was bad, but I was over it with a few days. It's good for your body to fight off disease, your immune system strengthens. Swine flu is blown out of proportion by the media.

seein as it is swine flu maybe we should boost our immune system in the style of the original sufferers, by wallowing in our own filth.

I want to get it,don't think my mother is particularly happy about it though.
Can I just make an appointment with my doctor and get it,or is there a long waiting list or something? :)

The best thing to do would be to give your doc a quick phonecall and ask him. They can advise you over the phone.

It starts on november 2nd. GPs will be giving it, and clinics will be rolled out by the HSE.

Problem is most GPs have only been given a fraction of the vaccines that they need, so there might be a bit of a delay in people getting them from GPs if they're not high risk.

But the HSE clinics should have plenty.

Your GP will know for sure though.

Distrust of the swine flu vaccine is directly proportional to the length of paid sick leave provided by your employer.

I have been gradually getting poor now for a week. Last Wednesday it hit me like a brick and sent home from work, could hardly drive. Headaches are blinding. It has got worse. This morning wnet to get fuel and at the cashier I was panting for a breath.
I was really worried and seen gp this morning charged me 50 bigones to tell me Ive got swine flu. I have no temperature, cold or cough.
Would not wish it on anyone gets that bad that i think my eyes are turning in my head and the breathing only hit me today.
Suppose it people take it differently.
Been up since 6.30 this morning and not even tired am a zombie without the vaccine.

Apparently if you dont take it in the first 48 hours. Then pointless and waste of money.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,859 ✭✭✭✭Sharpshooter

The Swine flu vaccine is in trouble at the moment because it comes in tens to the doctors here.
The reason being is it has a 24 hour life span.

So if 10 people go to their doctor and get the jab in a 24 hour period and another person arrives later to receive it the other 9 in that batch have to be destroyed as it stands now.

I will try to find the article I was reading referring to this when I get the chance.

    Swine flu party at Abigayles!

    Or...

She should be isolated and studied so that it can be determined what nutrients she has that might be extracted for our personal use.
