Usual ****e going down, the scum running amuck. Attacking any person, place or thing.

Hurling abuse towards our ES. (Started already this year, DFB getting attacked in Ballymun.)

Have the pleasure to be working this Sat, so will be seeing the drunk's coming in too my job, shouting and running amuck.

Last year, we had the pleasure of them shooting a rocket into the store. Thankfully no one was harmed.

    OR

Do you think it will change this year and is everyone ready?

Are the mods short of tea bags? Maybe a bit of trick or treating could sort that one out.

Its simple. We should just introduce prohibition, ala 1920s/30s America. Let the drinks companies or anyone else who doesn't like it go and fcuk themselves. This country has a major drink problem and our gardai are unable to deal with it, our government doesn't care about it and our emergency services shouldn't have to care about it. Its great being sober these past few Sat nites, seeing grown men act like bitching 12-olds and urinate on passers-by. What a lovely country we live in.

Ah, you can dish it out but can't take it.

By the way, I was having a joke.

Also love the fact that no one seems to give a **** about what went on in Ballymun. Same typical ****, no one give a toss about the people in the Emergency services putting there lives on the line, and too be attacked.

And yet this Saturday, it's seen to be tolerated, by the public.

Is the point of my post.

What i dont get is why people with alcohol related injuries/problems are even seen? They should just be let fcuking rot, at the side of the road. I took my aunt to A&E last year and we were waiting 45 mins, almost all of those ahead of us were alcohol related incidents. Of THEIR OWN MAKING! Fcuking dickheads.

And my point was, that if you are trying to make a point, it is a lot easier to do so if you make your point clear, rather than referring to the Dublin Fire Brigade as the DFB, an abbreviation which is both local to Dublin & obscure to the rest of the world.

I would be more inclined to agree or disagree with you if I knew what of you were speaking of.

Will be interesting to see how many people don't listen to all the safety messages and so on.

ONE - Look for a safe place

    TW0 - Don't Hurry, Stop & Wait

THREE - Look all around & listen before you shove that banger up your hole.

You think its bad here, go to English cities like Manchester & Birmingham(yes Brummytom :D). The likes of Temple Bar is a picnic compared to across the water, they are a different breed altogether for wildness!!

I like your plan (country is in denial with booze dependency) but it wasn't a success in America. It just drove it underground and gangsters profited.

I hate halloween. Never dressed up as an adult and its really just an excuse for fat birds to dress half-naked, burn random objects, scumbag children to start fights with you and animals to be anally raped with fireworks. I hate halloween like a dog hates halloween

No no no. Just no. It didn't work in America and it definitely wouldn't work here. People will still find ways to get booze and organised crime will flourish even more.

The reason why people go so wild is because they're treated like sheep...you slave away for a company that means nothing to you, for a cause you don't care about, and are finally released in to the pub at the weekend where you have a few short hours to make yourself forget about how bored and disenchanted you are with your life. And because everyone else is doing it too, it's ok to drink so much that you don't care about making an idiot out of yourself.

Whereas on the other hand if we liberated drinking laws completely, yes it may be chaos during the adjustment period, but afterwards people will realise that in order to get by they have to be independent and responsible.

Listen. I've seen those bastards sitting around the bonfire, spinning a ****ing cat. The bastards brought a decrepit couch to the fire last October.

If the emergency services are constantly abused and assaulted in a certain area then simply suspend all services to said area. I am sure the community would then be forced to resolve the matter themselves in a speedy fashion.

Vigilantism? Dunno. I'd rather dock dole of parents when brats are caught. That might get results. Minor's identity still protected and no cost to the state for custodial centres.

When I was renting in an estate in swords a few years back, our landlord cut down an old rotting tree in the back garden and heaped the remains on the drive out front, 2 days before Halloween. He told the local young lads they could take it away on the night instead of robbing the local building site of every piece of lumber that wasn't nailed down.

It turned out they climbed over the giant mound of branches and logs to steal both the empty wheelie bins for the bonfire which was just across the road. We ended up with this mound (untouched) in the drive for a month.

You cant stop people from drinking.

Why not just bring back wartime rations and send us all back to the cave. Drunks are a boil on the arse of irish society but we'll jut end with booxe smugglers along with the tobacco smugglers

    ^^Agree 100%

I f*ckin hate halloween. It's just an excuse for little thugs to run amok throwing bangers at people. Cops don't give a fook. Bangers are supposed to be illegal anyway, it's a joke.

Jesus speedboatchase whats that got to do with anything?

lol that sounds like a B or C list Movie plot. Coming up next, Jesus Speedboat Chase. Jesus decides that in order to save his beloved Mary Magdalene from loan sharks, he must enter a speedboat race in a bid to win the prize money and pay them off. Starring Angelina Jolie as Mary Magdalene, Keanu Reeves as Jesus, Dennis Hopper as one of the loan sharks and Christian Bale as his arachnemsis Satan/Speedboat racer. Rated 18.

Anyway Halloween is not so bad, sure it's bad for the ES, but in all fairness it's a fun time if you're out to just have fun.

I could have Chris De Burgh writing the soundtrack. Also you could have "Oh Lord, you gotta win" as the line on the movie poster.

    Lawless Saturday?

People complain about anticipating Xmas early, St Patrick's day isn't for another 138 days and it doesn't even fall on a Saturday next year.

Halloween in Dublin seems crazy - it's nowhere near as big a deal in Cork.
