100W Guitar/Bass cabs

I'm looking for one for an amp I have. They have a Peavey Bandit one for €99 in a local shop but it's probably a bit ****. I wouldn't mind getting a crappy cabinet for like €60 and shoving a good Eminence speaker but I'm mainly getting an ext cab for ****s and giggles rather than a serious musical need.

The Peavey one was also a very chunky 1x12, I nearly mistook it for a 1x15. I either want a compact as possible 1x12 or a 1x10, but it must be able to handle 100W absolute minimum which is the issue(or be cheap and ****ty so I can replace the speaker).

There's not a massive selection of single speakers that can handle 100 Watts, the Celestion GK100 springs to mind.

You mention bass and guitar. Do you need this cab to do both?
If so that narrows the choices even further as you need a speaker rated at 100 Watts down to 40 Hz ish which pretty much rules out most guitar speakers.
If you are looking for it to do both then you need to be looking at bass speakers.

Don't be too loose about picking any old crappy cab either. Crappy, small, poorly constructed cabs have a great knack of taking a great amp and speaker and making it sound like an old 14" portable TV.
Bigger, heavier cabs sound punchier and handle bass freqs better. Closed back cabs project low end better also. The opposite applies to ligher cabs and open backed. If you intend using for bass then the former is pretty much a necessity.

Check out www.tube-town.net. They have a cabs section and sell unloaded 1 X 12s. I got an unloaded 2 X 12 there and I will be going back for more.

No, it only needs to do guitar. I was only saying Bass because Bass cabs generally handle higher wattage at lower prices, and I'm using it with a Lunchbox which has it's own internal speaker, so I'd be using it kind of like a woofer/tweeter combo almost.

How much were unloaded cabs on that site?
