Replacement Sky Box?

    Hi All,

I've Sky+HD and a standard Sky box with a multiroom sub. The standard Sky box is faulty - the video and audio freezes momentarily and is basically unwatchable. This box is in the kids playroom so I don't need anything fancy but I do need a Sky sub for the children's channels. The box in question is a 10+ year old Panasonic so I suppose it's served it's time.

What's the best way to go about getting a replacement?

Could be a loose connection or damaged cable, so check the signal strength.

Signal strength & quality are almost 100% so I don't think that's the problem. I'll swap it with my HD box and see if the problem follows the box - just in case it is a damaged cable.

I'm sorted. My Dad had an old Grundig box in the attic. I hooked it up and it works perfectly. All I had to do was force a software upgrade to access all my subs. Video and audio are now both fine so obviously the old Panasonic box was faulty.

Run a firmware upgrade unplug the power lead, then hold the 'back up' button and plug the power back in while keep holding the button for about 20 seconds until the lights on the box light up, this will run an upgrade and solves most small issues
