For those of you who don't read the soccer forum, eirebhoy has passed away in Australia after being attacked. As a well known posted on here for his knowledge, good tips and always loved his banter, he'll be missed. RIP man.

A legend. Would have known him from foot.ie and he's the sort of person I would have wanted to know in real life. I'm really upset by this as I really liked him. My thoughts are with his family and friends. I'll definetly be thinking of him when Ireland play France.

Sad, shocking and so unfair. RIP Eirebhoy.

I was just looking at his YouTube profile .

One of the last videos that he added as one of his favourites was a month ago. It’s Go by Moby, & I just thought that maybe some people might want to take a couple of minutes to watch it & think of Gearóid & just wish him all the best in his final journey, & of course also to think of his family & friends & wish them strength at what is a devastating time for them.

RIP and condolances to his family and friends

Far too young to have passed on and tragic that his life was ended in the circumstances it did.

Sorry to ask, but I didn't know him personally.
By any chance, is he the same person that's being reported on the news?
