Way back in prehistoric times, i bought into the eircom flotation, after splits and takeovers and whatnot i was left by default with a number of vodafone shares, as were probably a lot of you. I've long since lost the share certificate, due to maybe a dozen house moves in the mean time, how do i go about recovering it to off load the shares (damn it i'll just live without those dividends!) Is it as simple as just contacting vodafone and explaining my case or what? Apologies if this is a really stupid question

Contact your broker, he should be able to help you out.

Brokers can help but your best bet is to get onto Computershare as you're the registered owner they prefer to deal with you.

    tel no: 2163100.

they'll send you out an indemnity form and i think the replacement fee is about €120.

they will also send you out your dividend entitlement for a €50 fee.

BTW they're F'in useless so expect to be waiting a while for all of it to be processed.

when your on the phone to a customer service agent make sure that they fully update your current home address or they will send it to the old address.
