I am in my final year of my level 7 computing degree in DKIT. I know now that I have no desire to work in the IT industry but would like to teach computing in secondary school.

What should I do next? HDIP? Which one? Where?
What are the typical entry requirements for such further study?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

There has been a similar thread to this before. There is no such thing as a school advertising for a "computer teacher". The job of teaching IT within a school is usually given internally to a member of staff. In my school for example 3 or 4 teachers of business, maths etc.. teach computers. I'm open to coreection here but I also don't think you can do a hdip soley in computing.

Also, how can you teach IT if you have no industry experience?

It's second level teaching. Most teachers have no experience of any profession other than teaching. And the syllabus at second level is not exactly advanced.
