    its a more politically correct modern European term and you cant drive around unaccompanied with the second one.

    basically everything Ireland used to be has been declared bad, oldfashioned and backward and needs to be changed for the sake of changing it and that's why they did it

    And still you can continue to renew and effectively drive about as though you are licensed because there is no enforcement. In California you get three learner permits duration in which to pass your test. If you fail the third you cannot apply again - for 10 years (I am told).

    still fair play to the RSA and those lads for sorting out the waiting times. that was the worst part about doing the driving test, having to wait 6 or 9 months to do it again.
