Honda Accord New Model

I'm looking to buy a new model Accord second hand in the Uk in the near future. I've been doing a lot of research on the prices of the cars but don't know a whole lot about the difference in the specs. Anyone that can help me understand the difference between the 2.0litre and 2.2 models. The difference between the es and ex models and any other helpful information and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Biggest difference between the 2.0 and 2.2 litre models is the fuel you put in it. 2.0 is Petrol, 2.2 is Diesel. If you are bringing it in from the UK you will be paying less VRT on the Diesel model due to the lower emissions.

I'm not sure whether the UK follow the same line up as Ireland, but here the ES model is the basic model. Still has climate control, cruise control, elec windows all round, but has 16" wheels which look lost and the interior cloth isn't great. The EX model is top of the range with full leather, sure there are other bits and bobs too.

Inbetween the ES and EX there is the Type S model. That's the sporty version with bigger wheels and a bit of a bodykit. Upgraded interior too.

Both the ES and EX have a GT spec, which initially anyway, replaced what was the type S

the ES GT is an excellent spec, and the upgraded body kit takes the old-man look of the Accord in my opinion.

the ex gt is much rarer, but there should be great value in importing an ES GT 2.2 diesel.

Ya thats the big draw...Love the look of the new model. There are 08 new models in the uk with under 15000 miles for around 15-18 thousand sterling. Compared to 30+ here. When it's cleared with vrt theres still a huge saving.

Exactly the type of car i was looking at Berty. I'm doing a hell of a lot of research to make sure i get the best value. At the moment i'm swaying towards a 2008 ex gt. The extra money you pay on the vrt is worth it for the executive model. A 2009 ex gt is probably just beyond my price range. The ex gt's are so rare in Ireland, absolutely beautiful car. If you can find the right car there's a potential saving of 10-15 grand.

That ad says 13k miles so it probably came from the UK in the first place so no it wouldn't cost over €38k new.

Priced the new model in my local dealer today. 09 black ex was 37995

i still advertise all my cars in miles, even my cars that had km clocks.
although mywheels.ie does say its an import.
