Thought this would be the best place ask this. Basically, I'm heading down to Cork tomorrow morning with Bus Eireann but I'll be bringing a guitar and I don't have a hardcase for it. If anyone has past experience doing this; do you reckon ir would be alright to leave it in with the other baggage or should I try arrange separate transport for it (a bandmate is driving down with some gear but I don't know if he'll have room). Do they let you bring guitars on the bus with you?

Yeah, I'm pretty paranoid about my gear :D

I don't think you'd have too much trouble bringing it on the bus with you. If the bus is crammed, you can always hold it between your knees.

I know I wouldn't put it in the luggage compartment...

take it on the bus with you. There's no way i'd put it in the luggage compartment.

I wouldnt put it in the luggage compartment even with a hard case tbh, bring it with you and put it in the overhead compartment. worked for me twice a week for a few months!

Cheers for the replies! Wasn't sure if anyone would kick up a fuss about bringing it on or if there'd be room in the overhead.
