Hi there I'm a fairly advanced swimmer (1.5k in 26 minutes) but I'm looking to move my swimming on a bit. I've tried different programmes but my last real progression was about a year ago. I'm looking for a swim coach in Drogheda. An y suggestions? Thanks.

Hey OP, Id imagine you're the same guy heading for Norseman next summer.
Im guessing the 26mins for the 1.5k is in the pool ? With that time Id guess there's probably not a hugh amount wrong with your stroke - its more pool / swim fitness and training that you need. If you're tackling that particular ironman then your bike and run fitness are probably pretty good but it doesnt always translate to the pool.

Is there any chance you could join a local masters club in that area - or even in north dublin - I know (not by first hand or anything) that aer lingus masters train over the weekends ...

Training in a masters club regularly and complimenting this with your own sessions during the week might help you take time off your swim.

Not sure of my pool time, but I went around 57 mins for the swim at challenge barcelona. Its still all just my opinion above

Very best of luck with the training

Cheers interested - good advice above. I went to a masters session and found there was a lot of talk about swimming but once in the pool it was all a bit leisurely. I think my stroke can still improve i haven't had any coaching since i was a kid. I also think I need a bit of a kick in the slats to make me do drills as i tend to stamina train rather than anything else. Anyway we'll see how it goes.
