cashing the grant cheque

    Has anyone been given the physical cheque and been able to cash it immediately? even tho they are from a different bank? I got mine today and Im so broke Im hoping a bank will cash it for me tomoro

    If it's from a different bank, it's going to be 3-5 working days before you can use the money. When you lodge it, the money will show on your balance, but the ATM won't let you take it out until the bank clears it. Trust me. I've suffered through those long annoying 3-5 working days for the last four years :rolleyes:

    really buggery! Might see if i can use some mind tricks on the teller to get it sooner! where did u get a cheque in 3 days - Ive always waited 5 days for other cheques - i thought cos it was from a council it'd go straight thru!

    double poo-I need milk!
