    Hi all,

I am currently in the process of doing market research for a new service, and am looking for people to fill out a quick online questionnaire for me..

Is it possible to post the link here and ask people to fill it out?

Why not go straight to the horses mouth?

Setup a one page website that is a survey.

Create a Google Adwords campaign so that an Ad pops up when people use search phrases that you think your potential buyers will use.

Setup the Ads so that when people click on them they get sent to the website survey page. (Check out the likes of www.surveymonkey.com. It's free for a limited number of responses last time I used it.)

After a wee while (dependent upon the amount of traffic and other things) you will know the following:
    1. The volumes of search phrases (from the number of times your Ads were triggered and then displayed).
    2. The best Ad wording to get people to click on the Ad (if you're split testing your Ads).
    3. The average cost per click (how much each website visitor costs).
    4. The conversion rate of website visitors to completed surveys.
    5. The average cost per survey.
If you've done your survey correctly (using open ended answers) you'll capture the primary concerns of your buyers in the language of your buyers.

You're much better going to the market and asking them than asking people to pretend they are your market. You're even better off asking your market when they are in "heat" and searching for your product/service, rather than asking them to imagine they are in heat and searching.

People in search mode online are acting instinctively. You'll get a good idea of what appeals to them at the emotional and gut-instinct level using this method.

Also, you'll be able to discern from your survey responses who you're most responsive customers are, and if you ask for contact details then you actually start building up a list of potential customers.

Make the survey deliberately long and not too easy to complete and you'll be only getting the most motivated buyers to fill in the survey, and your conversion rate of website visitors to survey completions will then give you an idea of conversion rate of website visitors to sales.

Soooo, you're getting market research data, and building an online sales funnel at the same time.

    Neat huh? :)

I hope that helps. Any queries please holler.

    Andy

Blimey, how rude of me in my first reply!
