Facebook chat problems

Facebook chat interrupts every other thing I'm doing online. If I'm typing something say here on boards, and someone says something to me on FB chat, boards freezes and I can't type any more. I have to go to FB and click on the chat, or maybe even reply, before I can continue typing on boards. I'm using Firefox 3.5.4. Does this happen for anyone else, and do you know how to fix it?

Suggest that you log out of FB chat if you are not using it! You don't have to be contactable!

Not had that problem myself, not that I particularly like the FB chat anyway, but I tend to miss when people have started a chat with us via FB and might not notice for ages, if at all.

Does anyone know of a way to disable it by default?

Does anyone know of a way to disable it by default?

On your FB Chat, click on options (top right of the chat pop up) Then click "Go offline" That will stay in place until you click it online again.

OP It sounds like a Javascript or maybe even a flash problem with your PC
