windscreen washers not working

My windscreen washers aren't working on my car. Sometimes when I "pump" the lever it comes over after a minute or two but not with full force.

I've tried to check if the "squirter things" are blocked and they don't seem to be.

Everytime I go to fill the water it would seem it's already nearly full.

Where else should I be looking or what else should I be looking at? 99 Opel Corsa.

    Thanks

opels do that yer one way valve is not working right

its a little valve in the line that stops the fluid running back into the bottle

It could be the little rubber gauze on the pump itself, might be all blocked with this frog spawn looking stuff, its all sticky and white. Remove it and clean it. It shouldn't be a big job.

well <sucks air through teeth >

    no

either that or the filter on yer pump is clogged
should be easy to figure out there is a motor that sticks into the bottle that pulls out
then there is a filter to clean
the return valve is after the motor and before the lines divide (under the bonnett)

Sounds like the pump is dead, Halfords or any motor factor
sell replacement water pumps, bit of finger/knuckle scrapping
involved in changing them, but thats the joys of working on cars!

my wipers went aswell, the pump was still making noise but nothing was happening,it was just dirt stuck in the tube coming from the motor blocking the water,im sure it wouldnt be a difficult job for a mechanic,
on my car it was a nightmare to get at the bottle though, you get at it through the right hand wheel arch:eek:

Had the same problem myself. Just had to wriggle the pipe from the motor a bit: it was loose, and wasn't pumping at full strength.
