    Yes you should.

Anything else and you could get yourself in heaps of trouble.

If you are being paid cash in hand, the likeyhood is that you will never be caught.
However, morally and legally you should declare your earnings.

you could get caught out and if you do.. you will probably get the JSA cut. :D

best thing to do is to let the dole know what you are going to or have done and how much you earnt....

I don't see why us tax payers should support people on JSA that go doing nixers.

if the gigs are on a sunday you dont have to tell them if its mon-sat you do as thats how your jsa is paid.

talk to your local office its not as if your going be giging 8hrs a night mon-sat

Declare it. As a brickie doing nixers, you'll know who you'd be working for, but as a wedding singer, you'll be singing to the couple getting married, plus 100 or so people. Let them know.

I would return it. I know of someone who was doing a "nixer" and was approached after a gig. The person who approached "wanted to book him for a party". After asking the normal questions like how much he charged, did they have many bookings coming up, they exchanged numbers. Received a phonecall from revenue on Monday. Revenue are now checking notice boards of shopping centres, online sites and many other places to find these people doing nixers.

    Better safe than sorry.

the answer to the above question is yes i was made redundant last year i have since being doing agency work, the dole office told me that they pay you mon-sat and they dont care if you work sunday.(as they pay you mon-sat)

i still pay tax&prsi and the days i work are deducted from my jsa/jsb its not ideal i would rather be working full time but its better than doing nothing siting at home going stir crazy
