    Hi All,

Following on from the event held on 2nd Oct, Engineers Ireland is holding a 2nd meeting on Friday 6th Oct @ 8:00am in the Burlington Hotel, Upper Leeson St, Dublin 4 - in the Elgin Room.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055683710

The event is proposed to run until 11am - but as like the first meeting, it may run over.

Tea/Coffee and pastries will be served from 8:00am and the meeting will kick off at 9:00am.

This event is aimed at recent engineering graduates who have yet to find employment and engineers who recently lost their job or found their working hours reduced due to the current economic climate.

The object is to get this group together once a month, to share knowledge, address concerns, idenitify skills needs and have guest speakers at each meeting from industry...again dictated by the group.

Membership of Engineers Ireland is not required.

    Agenda will include:

    · Kevin O’Loughlin, Managing Director of Nostra Systems (www.nostrasystems.ie) will give a short talk on his business and share with us his insights into starting up one’s own business.

    · Mouna Kenzaoui of ‘Emerge Ireland’ (www.emergeireland.com) will discuss her own career, the work of Emerge Ireland, and opportunities for Engineers and other professionals to work in South Africa on temporary contracts.

    · Kevin Dolan, who is a member of the Network, will brief us on using the Jobseekers Blog he has set up in the members area on the Engineers Ireland website.

    · Kevin will also present his ideas on doing a skills audit and setting up a skills exchange between Group members, and hopefully extending it to a skills exchange between Group members and Irish industry. We hope to carry out an initial skills audit during the course of our meeting.
