Claiming tax back

    Hello all,

    I was made redundant in May of this year and have been on JB since that time. Am I entitled to claim back any tax paid while I was working from January until May of this year? Thanks for your help on this matter.

    Depends on what you earned up until May but most likely the answer is yes.

    Your JSB will also count against your tax free allowance for 2009.

    Sign up to Revenue on Line service and at year end (when P60 produced) you can request a P21 (balancing statement) and if you are due to any refunds then you can ask Revenue to pay it direct to your bank account all online.
