    Quick q...

I have a 3gs, its factory unlocked. I have an app that only seems to work over wifi, so I was thinking of doing a jailbreak and getting an app via Cydia that fools the phone into thinking its on wifi when infact its on 3g/edge.

If this app still doesnt work, and I want to return my phone to the state it was originally in(including the firmware V3.01), is this possible? Or will I have to upgrade to the latest firmware to un-jailbreak my phone?

    Thanks.

you would have to upgrade to the latest firmware to un-jailbreak your iphone.

but why would you bother un-jailbreaking?

because i have my last 2 iphones jailbroken, they crashed at times and generally were a bit buggy. I don't have this issue with an un-jailbroken phone..

my 2g iphone always crashed on me with a jailbreak.

3g s is so much better, it's more responsive too, guess it's due to the extra ummph from the cpu etc.

I'm currently on 3.01 and can tether no problem. If I jailbreak, experience stability problems and update to un-jailbreak, that means I will lose the ability to tether yeah?

Also, if I do jailbreak, which programme should I opt for? Keep in mind, I'm on 3.01, am factory unlocked and so do not depend, or never will depend on an unlock.

    Thanks.

Sorry I'm not sure. I've never set up thethering on my phone. Anyone know if it's possible on a jailbroken iPhone 3G S running 3.1 on meteor.

I did have thesthering menus on my phone before but that was when I was on AT&T and living in the states.
