did honeymoon in Malta in April, so a similar time of the year weatherwise (I would presume, would need to double check that there).

Stayed in the Hilton. Hotel was class. island is class. Pea Pasties are class.
    Cant wait to go back.
And they speak english as their second language so theres no communication barrier really once you are out and about.

    Hi Sweetypie,

We are planning an October wedding and looking at Egypt mostly. Price is big factor but also the warm weather and anyone I know thats been there loved it and the way they were treated by staff etc.

Would like Mexico or Thailand too but bit out of price range so maybe in a few years.

We looked at Mexico, but seemingly there can be weather issues in October, so we thought we'd give it a miss, which sucks cos we both really wanted to go. :(

I'm looking to organise ours towards the end of October next year, we're looking into Cruises. Does anyone have any tips or advice on these? :)

Japan is great in October, but it's not a resort-type holiday (thank God).

Just back from our honeymoon. We went to America, 3 nights in Vegas, 5 nights in LA and 4 nights in New York. Weather was really nice in Vegas and in LA, it was in the mid twenties so not too hot, just perfect. New York was as cold as Ireland is in October but it was my first time there so I loved it!
We loved our honeymoon, stayed in the Bellagio in Vegas, Sheraton in Santa Monica, LA and the Lowes Regency in New York. Booked entire trip as a package through Sunway Holidays who were really good to deal with and arranged surprise upgrades in each hotel for us along with complimentary champagne, strawberries and cream in all the hotels too :)

You could do a 3 day cruise from Miami and then head to the Florida Keys for a week or two of relaxation! Bliss!

Recently back from our honeymoon. End of September and first two weeks of October.

    San Francisco
    Maui
    Boston on the way home

Lot of travelling but weather was out standing. SanFran had a heatwave... usually more temperate that time of year. Maui is always really good weather. Lots to do. Boston was just to break up the trip home. Couldnt recommend it enough.

Once (maybe twice) in a lifetime holiday

    Hey,
We got married in october 08 and went to Dubai and Mauritius for a week each. I would go back to Dubai any day of the week, weather was amazing, hotel was like a 10 star here and lots of things to do.
We stayed in the "One & Only Royal Mirage, Arabian Court" this place is unreal!!!
We booked through trailfinders and they were excellent.
Hope this helps if you havent already found somewhere.

    Hi there

Just wondering if anyone has heard about mice in Mauritius in October...?

Ive heard (via 3rd hand info...) that in Oct its crop cutting season and it causes all the mice to come out of the fields and that basically they're everywhere...

So has anyone been in Oct and experienced this? Or know anyone who's been during Oct. Im looking for honest, un-exaggerated feedback/info - I understand some people can freak out more than others about creatures etc...

We were looking at going for 1 week the first week of the Oct followed by a week in Sth Africa for our honeymoon.

Any info would really be greatly appreciated.

If anyone has alternative suggestions for a 1 week on the beach holiday with turquoise waters followed by 1 week road tripping for honeymoon please feel free to leave some suggestions (not interested in going to Central US and would like to save South America for another time...really want to go to Brazil for Mardi Gras sometime in the future but I think its March so no good for the honeymoon!!!).

    Thanks

    S

    Hey,
We went to Mauritius in October and there wasnt a sign of any mice so not sure how accurate the info you got is.
To be honest i wouldn't recommend it as a place to go. Very quiet and you are sort of restricted from going anywhere outside your hotels walls as it is a bit of a dodgy place in the local towns etc. and actually it is almost like a third world country.
We went on a couple of day trips that brought us around the island and some of the living conditions of the locals was quite shocking and to be honest it was a bit upsetting to be on your honeymoon and be driving past small children playing in sewers etc.

As regards reccomending somewhere else with beaches etc. etc. we also spent a week in Dubai and that place has to be seen to be believed. It was a week of luxury and worth every penny.
If you can afford to go here for a week i wouldnt even think twice about it, just book it asap. We went with trail finders and they worked out a great deal for us so you might want to have a look at their web site.

    Hope that helps.

We are also going on our honeymoon in late October/November. We are thinking of going to Malaysia - Langkawi & Penang. We've been told that the area is coming out of the rainy season that time of the year. The resorts look tip top but i'm worried about the rain.

We've been told that it will rain at some stage during our two weeks. That we can but up with but I'd hate to be over there and it being overcast the whole time.

Has anyone been? I've checked a number of websites I'd just like to hear what people who've been there think.

We are going on our honeymoon late october/early November to Australia stopping off in Hong Kong, staying in Melbourne, Sydney, Hamilton Island and Port Douglas and Singapore on the way home. Weather should be ok in Melbourne and good everywhere else. Got a great deal off Trailfinders, great to deal with.
