I'd like some help or information regarding a laptop - details are below

    Budget: The cheaper the better.

Intended use: Not for me. For my mother so its needs nothing fancy at all. All she will do is use word and internet. I want her to have it so she can use skype.

Mobility: Not important at all. We have an old desktop at home thats on its last legs. So it literally will be a desktop replacement. I just want her to have the option of picking it up and putting it in another room. We have wireless so want to avail of that.

Warranty: at least one year. She is not computer literate so it would be good to have a helpdesk on standby or someone that will be patient and try fix any problems that may arise.

I've looked at a Dell refurbished inspiron for €263. The cheapest i can find - but i'm afraid of the feedback i've read about Dell customer care.

ON adverts ie ,you,ll get a pentium 4 1.5ghz cpu 500meg ram 40gig hardrive laptop 150 euro ,just make sure it has a wireless card built in for WIFI wireless acess.IN my experience single core laptops are more durable, eg core duo 2 laptops are more delicate ,louder ,need more cooling ,ie they tend to use more power ,make more noise, my p4 laptop is almost silent ,ibm thinkpad 1.6ghz p4 cpu.I got it from adverts.ie
MY sis bought 3 dells and they are fine ,had no trouble with support.
ID RECOMMEND dell to anyone .
