Kino Cinema in Cork Set to Close

I couldn't believe it when I read in this morning's Irish Times that the Kino Arthouse Cinema in Cork is set to close. Over my 9 years as a student in Cork, I saw so many great (and not so great) films in that cinema that I wouldn't have seen otherwise.

The closure is over a piddling €50,000 debt (which isn't that much really). Here's their facebook page if you want to show your support.

50k may not be that much but it's probably a loser anyway.

    Boooo :(

The Kino is one of the best things about Cork, it would be a real shame to see it go.

    some sad news alright.

I remember having our 1st year lectures in UCC there, bit bizarre but then space was short.
Remember seeing Shawshank, Apocalypse Now there also. Haven't been there for years though.
