Witness the double standards at play .......

Its an ampethamine (type drug). Its banned in competition under wada rules but not out of competition.

    Boonen and coke
    Ulrich and e
    Ulrich and ampethamines
    Boonen and coke

It *would* be double standards if he agassi was nailed for it.

while you're wrong rob its great for it not to be a RLJ or riding single file thread. Maybe there is hope for this board yet.

cant see what your point is .are you saying armstrong is a druggie ?

OP, why are you posting about tennis - I'm pretty sure there's a forum for that. What has Armstrong got to do with the story?

Boonen missed a TDF for the first one and pretty much got away with the second.
ullrich was banned for amphetamine use (6 months) and as a result if he tried a comeback would probably get a 4 year to life ban for his Puerto involvement.

And I'm simply saying that if this story involved a high profile cyclist then for a start it would have been publicised at the time and would not have been swept under the carpet.
In terms of context switch Agassi for any hign profile cyclist of that era and ask if the story would be treated differently.
Tunney mentioned Ullrich who failed a similar test in 1999, he got banned ....

They're both American, prof athletes, hairless (sometimes), in their thirties, known to wear funky clothes, etc. etc.

Least its not performance enhancing and it resulted in him being in the worst form of his career at a time he should have been top ten! Think yes he should have been banned for 3/6 months but as it didn't help him I wouldn't be too worried. If it was helping him then it would be a different matter!

    lets be honest.
Cycling == flithiest dirtiest sport in the world and getting worse.
Tennis == bad but not as bad.

Hammer the repeat offending sport. The sport that has made no serious attempt to clean itself up. An aborted attempt was being made a few years (2-3) ago but that is dead and gone.
