    You must get special permission form the Disability Support Service to tape lectures; in general it is not permitted. See policy here.

    Really? Seems like the kind of thing most lecturers wouldn't have a problem with if it was for studying and the like.

    I was shocked when I started studying a masters in a different university and a lot of people whipped out their dictaphones for the lectures. I never saw one being used in UCC but I just thought it was because people were more relaxed about studies, not that they were banned.
