Apparantly a large 10 foot Great White has been found in Australia, almost bitten in two by another Great White estimated to be nearly 20 feet in length:eek:

    See here for pics

Right I'll put on the chips, you lot can go get supper. :D

Very smooth looking bite marks, I thought sharks teeth made a jagged tear when they bite.

Six metres is big, but its not mahoosive.
3 metres is just very small for a great white.

Only if they let go. They are like razors otherwise. But it is very smooth. I wonder if its a picture of someone trawling a dead shark for game fish bait and the press got fooled.

Yeah, I don't know why but it looks as if something is not right with the pic.

I only caught the tail end of this on the news earlier, but something fishy going on here alright.

Maybe it's because it bit the other shark on one side and then on the other side that makes it look, well not quite right.

There are rumours that it was attacked by new type of Killer Whale:

    Orcinus Harneycus

    Couldn't have been.

If she got in the water we'd be hearing about a whale not a shark.
Or maybe a hybrid of the two.

    A Shale or a Whark!!

Actually if she got in the water there would be no water left.

You wouldnt trawl a dead shark for game fish..i mean no billfish is going to chase dead great white if it cant fit it in its mouth.
You wouldnt even use as a dead shark as chum for other sharks as thier flesh isnt really oily enough.
It looks like the shark did indeed have a chunk bitten out of it,great whites have huge biting power and thier teeth cut like cleavers, that would explain the cleanness of the bite.
Anybody who thinks that they only live outside europe should check this

Judging by the bite marks, i'd say it wasn't a shark at all.. but maybe that guy from the Up Your Viva ad all over the TV at the moment.

You got to admire these beasts. I have so much respect for Sharks as there mere presence amazes me.

Living in Florida on the Gulf Coast, I love to fish. I love to Surf Fish and it amazes me how many sharks are around people leisurely swimming in the water.

I catch sharks on a regular basis raging from Sand Sharks, to Hammer Head sharks which can be caught 25ft from shore. There are also bull sharks and tiger sharks ranging from 3ft to 10ft long

I have been wading out into the water to get a longer cast beyond the second sandbar and I regular see bull sharks, manta rays, sting rays swimming around me and once you leave them be they will leave you be.

One day I seen 9 - 10 bull sharks swimming and feeding on Lady Fish and Rays only 20 - 30 feet from shore in around 5 feet of water. A wonderful sight.

You hear of shark attacks here in Florida but believe me they are far and few between.

People do not realize that when there swimming especially close to the Sandbars that they have marine life of all shapes and sizes feeding around them including big sharks.

Now, on the West Coast around California you are more likely to get a shark attack as the coast is full of seals.

From my experience sharks will not attack humans directly for food. If this was the case you would have people here and including me on the Gulf Coast who would get bit every day.

Sharks I believe will mistake a wet suited surfer for food once there are seals around and the likes.

Nothing better than catching a shark, safely unhooking the big guy and send him or her on their way to do what they do best.

Great animals and they have my total respect. I hate people who catch them and keep them for their own glory. Take a picture and let the creature back in where they belong.

Not convinced myself but until they provide more direct evidence of the 20ft one, the jury is out. No worries for the average Paddy anyway. Watch the jellyfish and the sand weevers and you are fine.
