The Monthly Tournament has been running for a few months now. The numbers are a little inconsistent as other Club's festivals tend to on the first weekend of the Month and can effect us.

    June
    49

    July
    29

    August
    27

    September
    28

    October
    32

There seems to be quite a lot of interest for this Sunday's Tournament so hopefully back up to the 40 mark.

And? There has always been a membership fee to join, plus you get it back in chips. So whats the problem then?

iirc its a non refundable chip so you have to gamble it on a table game.

I aint mad about the membership fee either but its been there from when they opened so bringing it up now in this thread makes no sense. Just being petty imo

I dont see any problem with charging a membership fee, afaik it use to be 20 its changed to 25 now still not much of a difference.

Just go up and stick it on black on the roulette and hope to get the money back (wesley snipes says it)

They arent the only club to have charged a membership fee, so whats the point in Donal bringing this up?

I agree with this i was just answering what some peoples problem with it is. Some people wouldnt like the fact that they have to gamble on a 50/50.

I also agree with hatedjacks in that someone bringing it up in threads like this seems a bit petty.
btw when my sister joined up we spun her 20 onto about 350 on roulette(black or white!) before putting the breaks on!.

I dont agree with that first part everybody is there for a punt so to have the chips they will have a bit of fun with them.

Sweet scoop with your sisters membership fee :D

Personally I had no problem paying the €20 when I joined but, having said that, this was the only Casino I joined that looked for a joining fee.

I know it's a stumbling block for some players who would otherwise play there (it's been mentioned to me by more than 1 player who I recommended to play in the SE)

I think people have said it to management and they don't seem to want to change the policy so end of really....

Can't play this excellent game today. GL to all who play...

Playing Vera's bday bash in blinkers (blinkers lol) they charged a membership fee if i remember correctly.

There seems to be a few things about becoming a member of the SE that put people off, having to give a finger print, membership fee etc etc with all that being there from the minute they opened i cannot see for the life of me why there is a problem, if you dont wanna give your finger print dont, if you dont wanna pay the membership fee dont, easy.

it was €10 when i joined which is meh, the point i'm making is that, they say you can join on the day and documents needed to join but don't state that its 25 quid to join - which i only found out a couple of days ago. i've seen other card clubs when advertising state that membership is free.

It is stated on their website about the membership fee so nothing is been hidden.

Near enough final table, Rory hoovering up the chips, sending me to the rail along too. Hope he takes it down as he's played great and deserves it.

Good turnout, cracking tourny, will play again for sure.

That's true Dan, forgot about Blinkers. I do remember getting away without paying the fee when I joined but it was in advance of Vera's birthday bash :D

Was a great structure if even a little too good! The average stack was always 20-30bbs.

I enjoyed it alot, had a great bit of banter with Myles who played great and came 2nd. I got 2k he scooped 1600.

I played well but but ran well and got lucky at the right times. 46 runners was a great turnout and they had a subsequent 36 in the following €50 game.

Anyway, i've college in the morning, a meeting about sorting my life out with the dean :(

You played a blinder, a joy to watch. Not often i get heads up with that much chips and the amount of play that was left, maybe next time i'll give you a run for your money!! Many thanks to the SE great game as usual even when we got heads up the structure allowed for lots of play.

Congrats to all the other players on the final table.......

Best of luck with the dean, if your bull**** is half as good as your poker you'll be walking out of his office with your degree and he'll be patting himself on the back thinking: what a great job he did!!!! Gluck

Wp, you absolutely destroyed us all tbh. Shame I bust before the FT but meh I had to ship with the 33, had half the average, happy enough to take a flip there. Shame cos I played well most of the day, cards dried up completely and you were completely relentless, tough to deal with when you get 92o every hand!

Excellent game anyway, terrific structure for the buy-in. Look forward to next month.
