I had a great plan that I was going to revise all my subjects and everything we've done since September in them. I can honestly say that is not going to happen at all. I have to do all my written homework(which I will do) but then learning.. erghh I just dont think ill be able to make myself, completly lazy I know :P

So what are my fellow boardsies doing education-wise for mid term?

This is Junior Cert - right?

I doubt much studying will be done in the mid-term. Maybe next mid-term - Easter!

I've been bogged down in study and homework. We have tests in 2 weeks and no-one in my class has done any study. We need t learn 20 science chapters, 4 units in geography, 9 history essays, don't have a clue what in French or English, 2 poems and 4 sample essays in Irish, don't know what in cspe or business. We are sooo dead.

I sat my Pre-Mocks last week, so I'll be taking a break from studying. :)

I really really wanted to get loads (well, a bit) of study done this week but being me, I took Monday off because I was tired and cold and it was the bank holiday and I needed a rest. Tuesday I did like 3 chapters only of subjects (like 1 in 3 subjects) and yesterday I went to my friends house and only back now. None will be done today, I need to recuperate from our all nighter :( And then I'm away tonight.
So hopefully tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday I'll get something done
I feel so bad now though

    Relax.

It's the Junior Cert not the Leaving Cert. It can be studied for a few months beforehand.

Ok, well I ahd planned much more, but this is what I got done:
About 4 chapters of Science, 3 chapters of Home Ec, 1 or 2 chapters of Geography, Like 1 page of Religion and then I was really happy that I did the Ledgers and stuff in Business from 1st year because now I know how to do them.
And I meant to do some Irish grammer for the new paper but didn't get that done yet

I don't know how people say that you only need to study a few weeks before hand, theres like a whole 3 years work to be done in 11 - 12 subjects :eek:

Well like to be honest you don't have to do a lot of study this time of the year because you will forget it at June. There's no point stressing out now. Really after Christmas is the time to start doing your study. I tried to study before Christmas but honestly it doesnt work out. Take up the study after Christmas and you will be fine if you have the attitude you have now for January and take the Xmas holidays off.

I know 7 people in history essays for history and I feel so proud of myself, granted I already had like 4 of them learned, but still, I thought I wouldn't get anything done.

I recommend a self-imposed ban on myself but I wouldn't be able to stick to it.I don't have very much willpower but I really need to find some, does anyone know where they sell it?:D or could I borrow some of yours padocon?

That's what I'm studying for now, we have them now because we have to learn a load of stuff from 1st and 2nd year as well as what we've done thie year so having them in December would be just too much work.Every year in our school have them except L.C., but most of them aren't until a week before we get our christmas holidays.

I plan to take a very long rest from study after next week and probably won't do any more until near the mocks.

I just realised how tired I actually was today, I was writing a French postcard the date I put on it was the 31 of June but there are only 30 days in June!I am such an eejit:D

Your all worrying far too much over something that hardly needs to be worried about. Take it easy, I only studied literally 2 weeks before the exams and even then I didn't do insane 9am-8pm insane study marathons or whatever, just 2 hours or something a day for the last 2 weeks.
I got 5 As and the rest Bs. Unless your completely and utterly useless at something I wouldn't start studying until april. Studying from this time in the year is something you'll be doing in 6th year for your Leaving cert, the Junior cert is easy as long as you do your homework and just listen in class and study from mid-april etc.
I know your probably sceptical of what I'm saying but you'll be looking back 12 months from now and you'll see that I'm right.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,849 ✭✭✭bluejay14

I'm not worrying about the Junior Cert and am going to take like a 3/4 month break after next week's exams because if I don't do well in them I might have to go down to pass because this is kind of like final decision.(well not set-in-stone final but it is fairly close)

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 7,849 Mod ✭✭✭✭suitcasepink

I'm worried because I don't seem worried enough about the exams, if that makes any sense :/
I know your saying we needent study until April but since 1st year i've had it drilled in my head I should study everyday! But now I just think *meh* about it! See how it goes next June I guess :P

Exactly how I feel, since the start of this year since about the 2nd week back, my mum kept on saying I should "do he odd bit of study" and I was like yeah yeah I'll do it next week.I usually forgot to do any and didn't realise until half way through the next week so was like well I can't start now it's already Wednesday!any I did do was only the "odd" bit !

Calm People. You'd hardly study in 5th Year, nevermind 1st, 2nd or even 3rd!

Ah well I may as well start! The early bird catches the most wormAs! I'm not an absolute genius! I know I won't get all those A's, unless I start now and I would be lucky, very lucky and happy if I got some!
