    Hi There,

I was think of getting the above bike (bike2work scheme) after reading a review here:
    http://www.roadcyclinguk.com/commuting-reviews/genesis-flyer/2105.html

It's available for roughly 500 from Evans cycles that would leave me with 500 for Gear.

    Opinions?
    Anyone ever tried one?

    Much appreciated.

I know nothing about fixies other than you cant get one for €150... I'm only posting to make sure you know its a fixie, ie no gears. If you didnt have a think, if you did you probibly know more about them than I...

    Actually it's a singlespeed.

yup, single speed commuter. I'm not the biggest fan of changing gears.

If a single-speed road bike is what you're after it'll do nicely.

Can you buy online via your company's scheme? If not it'll probably cost more locally. Looks like Evans only have the 2009 58cm model.

I used not be a fan of changing gears either. But after I tried it a few times I really got into it. Now I'm changing gears all the time, up and down the cassette like crazy. Can't get enough of it.

I have a 2007 or maybe 2008 model. It came with a flip-flop hub. Nice bike.

you could get the specialized 2009 san francisco 1, its also a single speed, for 440€ in cycleways. with your 40% off it is a great bike for a very small price.
