Right lads, i am looking for a new laptop for myself.

    Budget: I don't known.
Intended use: It will be mainly used for internet, e-mail, Word processing, programming, devloping websites and the odd game of Football Manger 2010.
    Mobility: At important.
Warranty: Whatever it is, it will do, i am very careful of my stuff.

in your intended use case any standard laptop out there will do a good job for ya: Dell,HP,Sony etc just pick the look/price that suits you.

but you mention Mobility, here comes the real question: how mobility can you afford?:D the more mobility = the more money in laptop world (except the netbook range laptop but i think netbook wouldnt suit your needs).

the cheapest way to go is just get a small size laptop ,ie the standard specs laptop with a small monitor(those with a 13'/14' inch monitor).

or you want something really mobility you are looking at the ultraportable range laptop(mostly are in 12' inch monitor),which can be real handy to bring it walk around everywhere all day long but their prices wont be cheap.check out some famous ones this link.

You should be able to pick up something for around the €500 mark, theres no need to go over that.

Some of that advice is out of date tbh. FM09 was actually pretty heavy on the graphics card. Despite the crap looks, real-time rendering is something new to SI and they have a lot to learn in this regard, particularly when it comes to optimisation. I'd recommend looking for a 256MB Dedicated Graphics card to safeguard against future releases.

    RAM, look for 3-4GB.

In terms of CPU, I'd look for a Core2Duo P8600 (2.4Ghz) or higher (if the budget allows). FM09 feels a bit sluggish on my T7250 (2.0Ghz) at times, although I am a heavy user when it comes to FM.

The Dell Vostro range will have those kind of specs on offer for between €700-800 anyway, depending on what screen size you want.

I think that if you're into designing websites etc go for a Mac, although I know it pinches the purse strings.

Try Pixmania, might find yourself a good deal :)

    I second the mac idea.

I have one and it works great. You may want to look at the new MacBook series, or if you have slightly bigger budget a MacBook Pro.

The macs are more expensive, but it is a question of getting what you pay for. The specs are good, and the basic hardware is well made.

Championship manager 2010 is made for the mac, and if you want to play something else that is not made for the mac, you can always install Windows on it, and select which operating system you want to use.

And of course, all webdev apps are made for mac
