I noticed recently that there are mobile phone masts on hotels, most hotels in fact. Some disguise them as pipes. Are people aware of this? I know they are everywhere but do they need to be on hotels.

probably because hotels are tall buildings. Garda stations usually have masts as well.

I say more masts! Masts for every building everywhere.

I'm sick of only getting a slow Edge signal in some places. 3G masts, 4G masts and any type of masts that improve our communications infrastructure is a good thing!

A: What's the problem with that?
B: Hotels and business's use them to generate revenue by getting paid around €10K a year IIRC to allow the operators use their buildings

My take on it is that someone is having an affair and doesn't want to tracked via their SIM card...

I noticed recently that there are masts on pirate ships, most pirate ships in fact. Some disguise them as pipes. Are people aware of this? I know they are everywhere but do they need to be on pirate ships.

its only good if we no for sure that their are no health consequences to people from the radiation that these masts emit.

But there are no health consequences that we know of. So why worry about it. Think about how many radio/television/phone/satellite signals are being beemed through your head right now. Have you suddenly noticed people dropping dead around you? No.

There has been no evidence to suggest they are harmful, so why assume they are?

Isn't the reason thers's no evidence cause they haven't been around long
    enough to study properly though?

True as far as mobile phone signals, but what about Radio waves / UHF TV frequencies. The only real difference is the frequency at which they're broadcast. And noone moans about TV signals being pumped through their noggins.

The fact that there is no scientific evidence against mobile phones or masts doesn't really prove anything, as most of the research is being carried out by the industry (with a vested interest in the status quo), the government (who gain revenue from mobile operators) or at snail-pace by academics. People are not going to just drop dead from masks, of course not, it will take time. Have a look at this article.

There was a mast put up in Cavan town, on a steet full of homes and a school. But like so posters saided, there is no evidence to say they are bad for you.

I did not know that but bring some lumber and meet me on the roof of the Quality Inn by the Airport, I'll catch the next flight.

    I have a cunning plan.
