    Hi,

is it necessary to get an engineer to supply a spec and
    drawing for the foundations?
assuming it will be a strip foundation good soil?

i am having an engineer inspect the trenches but he
has given me a price of €400 to issue a drawing and spec?

can i get him to just inspect and give us a spec?

    any info much appreciated.

    cheers
    Rob

Our house has been built entirely off planning drawings. Builder made the call on the foundations and the engineer signed them off. Obviously the engineer can only sign off on something he can stand over. Just make sure it's done right from the outset.
