Weekend away in Cork - accomodation wanted!

My girlfriend and I will be travelling down to Cork City for a friends 30th. Can anyone recommend a hotel that is central, cheap and cheerful. i.e middle of the road hotel, no frills but does the job!

The Maldron hotel, formerly the shandon quality hotel, have stayed there many times and its very nice. Its just a few minutes walk to the city centre.

There's a place on Western Road (not Lancaster Lodge) the name of which I'm wracking my brains trying to remember - a self-catering apartments kinda place. Really reasonable. And new - so quite nice. Think it begins with "w".

Gah... will not come to me. Does it ring a bell for anyone else?
