dvd burning issues with laptop

    Hello all,

    I bought a laptop last week just for run of the mill stuff..and im having trouble burning discs..i have tried 2 different programs and both dont recognise the disc(i can burn files within windows but i cant close the session for some reason.)..is it the discs im using..sony and maxell..or am i doing something silly...
    I have the same burning software on my desktop and it works fine..

    Are they +r, -r, rw etc??? Sometimes there can be limitations. Look at your drive and it will say on it what it will burn.

    Try a new brand of discs, cheap DVD writers can be fussy when it comes to media.
