    Theres a fairly big Naval looking ship off the NE side of the island, its been there for about 3 days now. Anyone know what its doing out there?

    was looking at it yesterday with a spotting scope, looks to me like a fisheries protection vessel taking shelter from the westerly winds.

    It's probably there in connection with Live Surface to Air Firing Practices, Gormanston Air Defence Range. They stooge about up there quite a bit. Anything look familiar http://www.military.ie/naval/flotilla/index.htm ?
