    Hi folks.

Just wondering what your experience is of using Wave. I've seen some reports of it hanging systems, of being slow - and yet the launch video looked very impressive.

So, is it as easy to use as the launch suggested - and how are the features operating.

I don't have a Wave, and no, I'm not looking for an invite. Just curious about the whole thing. I'm a teacher and I think that it could have classroom potential at senior cycle (a bit like Moodle in some colleges). Also, definite potential for staff development and policy work.

How long before it will go on general release?

Its not as user friendly/easy to pick up as gmail was. The demo video only had 3 people hence it was so quick.
While it hasn't hung my system it is very slow especially on bigger waves.
Cant comment on a non personal setting.
    No idea on release.

It's not that bad to use, but definitely it takes some getting used to.

It really is aimed at collaboration so it should be useful for teachers and students. There is a lot potential in the tool but at the moment there aren't too many people using it, and it has no feature that entices people to use Wave over IM or email to connect to people at the moment.

Getting at the application is another thing, Chrome (chromeframe) or FF3.5 are the only browsers that actually support it.

At the start it was very slow, horribly so, with waves not syncing correctly and all, but it's improved since. I'd say give it a try and find our what it could do for you.

    Started a discussion thread here

I'm finding it pretty cool so far, showing a lot of potential so far, and i guess the flaws is all about Beta testing
