Need some advice

    Hi All,

Thanks for reading - need some advice. I am a person who needs advice. I would prefer not to give much away about myself but I do need some assistance with my issue. About 3 years ago, a person moved into a house that I lived in. We became great friends and all was good. We went out, sat in, enjoyed each others company and had fun. But in Autumn 2007, they moved outta my house and I didn't see them for ages. We did keep in touch and met up near the end of last year. This year, I went away on a trip and got them a pressie from my holiday. They had text me their details to send this on. I did send this on and haven't heard from the person since. I had a bit of a **** year as I was concerned about a number of things in work and life and it brought me down. I looked to them for advice as a friend and didn't hear back from them. I have sent them numerous texts and emails trying to salvage our friendship but I don't know what caused this. I live for the day that I can salvage this friendship as this person meant a lot to me. Today, I began to feel really crap about it and going over it again in my head. I am glad to have typed this out as I want to just get this resolved but I don't know what to do. Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction?

    Thank you for reading..

It's very difficult to give you advice because your post is extremely vague.

From what I can gather, you had a friend who no longer wants to be friends with you.

All you can do is try to communicate with your friend. But if he/she won't answer your calls or respond to your efforts in any way, then you need to accept that the friendship is over and move on.

Am with the first poster here.
You have given little on the situation or the friendship to really give a full picture.

However from your post - and correct me if I am wrong.
    > you have made numerous attempts to get in touch / stay in touch with this friend - even going so far a sending a pressie when away
    > but this friend has not replied to any of your attempts

If this is the case - then sorry - but it looks like this friend is a friend no more by their choice.
It takes 2 to make a friendship but only 1 to end it.

Try to move on - stop contacting them etc. Who knows maybe in the future they will get back in touch but I think for your own sanity and peace of mind you need to put this part of your life behind you and focus on the future. Don't dwell on all the bad stuff or on why someone you thought was a friend is not. Just try to put it behind you.

    Hi ,

OP here - the detail in my post was the story. We spent loads of time together and I thought it was a solid friendship. But reading both of your posts has helped me.
Thank you both so so much
