After seeing a huge piece of pixel art someone made of the Mario start screen out of beads I've been itching to give it a go myself. (Might finally get to put my fine art degree to some ****ing use!) Finally found out how they do it. Hama beads. You make the image on a pegboard, run an iron over it and all the beads fuse…

Finally found out how they do it. Hama beads. You make the image on a pegboard, run an iron over it and all the beads fuse together.

You can make anything. From simple sprites -

To really really crazy complicated stuff -

Do a search for bead sprites on google. There are thousands of them. Some of which really blow my mind.

I've since ordered some beads and peg boards. :pac:
