To all you who have restored a bike

While walking the dogs in the woods yesterday I came across a Ladies Raleigh black bike that looked like it been lying there for years. I gently pulled it out of the under growth to see what state it was in.
    Front Wheel buckled
Full Chainguard still intact but very rusty so i didn't try to turn the pedals.
Brooks saddle amazed me as the leather was still supple.
All the break piping is still intact.
The steel is rusty but from what I could see it is still solid
Now I will have to arrange to get thru a barrier to collect it as its about 3 miles from where I can park a car otherwise(and I not going to carry it out)
So Question is do people think it would be worth having a go at restoring it.

Definitely take it, if you don't end up restoring it someone else will. I'm looking for a decent ladies bike at the mo and they're not as easy as blokes bikes to come by (in non half ton mtb etc form anyway)

Check with the cops first, ie take note of the serial number, it could have been stolen a while ago and stripped down and dumped. After a year and a day it becomes legally yours. :)
