Ok so I'm insured on a 1 litre yaris that is in my mums name. Does this mean I'm just insured on that specific car? This is what I thought until a few people said to me they thought I could drive any 1 litre car. Does anyone have any idea which is true? It is probably the first but thought I would ask anyway. Thanks

You'll have to ask your mother's insurance company, but i'd be very surprised if anyone but the policyholder is covered to drive other cars.

totally depends on your insurance policy.

read that or ring up your insurance company as they the only two things that can give you an answer.

    Check your ins. policy.

Its only that car you are insured on unless you have some very crazy insurance policy.
It is common for the policy holder... your mother in this case to be insured 3rd party on other cars that have an insurance policy on them but not named drivers, as you are in this case.

It would only apply to that car, as you are a named driver only not the owner.

Also, if you're over 25 with a full license, you'll be able to drive under somebodies policy if they have open drive.

Your mother may be covered on the policy to drive other cars, but as a named driver, you're more than likely (depending on the company) only covered to drive her car.

I'd ring the company to make sure, but I'd put a tenner down to say you're not covered.
