First post in this section so please forgive if in wrong place.

The VCR has given up the ghost and as herself wants to be able to record, am exploring the DVD-R recorder with hard drive option but am uncertain if they will work with an analogue feed.

I need to be able to record directly onto the HD and not to the DVD

    All suggestions on brands/makes/issues welcome.
    Thanks

As far as I'm aware all the digital recorders are designed for specific digital feeds such as Sky, Freesat and UPC, there isn't one that I'm aware of that will take the analogue VHF or UHF feed. With analogue being phased out now in the UK and across most of Europe, a digital video recorder which uses an analogue input will be pretty hard to find.

You want a DVD recorder with a "hyperband tuner"

Most DVD recorders sold in the Republic of Ireland will still have analouge tuners since there are no *official DTT broadcasts in Ireland yet

    * = just some "test transmissions" which have been going on some crazy length of time now
