When do you guys think men and women should be married or settled down or whatever.

    What I mean is what age........for a woman I think around 32 and for a man I suppose between 38 and 42.

Why the difference in ages between the sexes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,789 ✭✭✭✭ScumLord

Never, there's no point in marriage anymore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

When ever they feel like it.

This whole thing of people having pressure on them to settle down or be in a relationship is stupid.

Enjoy your life and see what happens.

In and around the 28 mark is good I think.

You mean women and men should roam and have kids with different partners through their whole lives?

The age difference because women look worse younger than men and also after a certain age they cant have kids, men can go forever really.

Did you mean women look better younger? Because if not it doesn’t make sense.

So should the women then settle down with the older men?

Anyway to answer your original question I think around 35 is a good age to settle and have kids.

    Glad we cleared that up.
Now I can go back to drinking my bottle of Volvic water.
Filtered through volcanic rock for a million years, but it still has a sell by date on the lid....... weird.

Water has been coming through the rocks for millions of years but its different water all the time. Oh yea and your helping to ruin the environment with your yuppie bottle water. Take a glass to the tap fill it up drink it and if you need more do it again. Bet you’d wipe your arse with snow leopard pelts you evil fiend. Hanging is too good for you.

I don't really care if I ever get married, but I would like to be living with a long-term partner and the 1st child at around 28.

    Age is irrelevant.

How does marriage stop people having children with other partners?

Know 2 couples who have 20 odd year age gaps and they are probably the best suited couples I know.

    Back on topic:

The two large yoghurts in my fridge have expired.

Since they're sealed, contain live cultures, and I'm adverse to discarding 1kg of food stuffs - what ill effects, if any, should I expect to experience after consuming?

I think I'll have to, nothing else for breakfast as far I can see.

This "past the sell by date" life is harsh.

I can understand how you would feel apprehensive… however, this very morning I had orange juice- orange juice that has been in my fridge, opened, for at least 2 months [ I say at least, potentially 3 months!!]….

Now, given the sell by date said March 2010 (although this specified before opening, and after opening 5-7 days in a refrigerated environment [aka fridge]). However, I was quite thirsty, it smelt grand and it would accompany my toast delightfully… I thought ‘what the heck, live life vicariously’ and went for it…… totally fine… its now 9.11pm and not a dickey bird (or anything a lot more disgusting).

Point being, I think a lot can be said for the smell test (in both potentially rancid food, and clothes) .. if it smells good, there’s a pretty increased chance it is good :D

Uhmmm.. I think I use brackets too much…

I opened a tin of dolmio once and there was a load of fungus on the bottom of the lid.

I'm going to get married before i get fungus under my lid.

My mum borrowed a tub of cumin off my aunt recently to make some soup with it - was very nice soup too! I was making dinner last night and thought I might use it, however alerted by the fact that it was in one of those old bright green tubs I looked at the use by date - July 2002! My aunts response was "sure you're all still standing aren't you? It's grand!"

I think where you're from makes a big difference about when you get married / want to get married.

Rural folk always got married earlier on in life as compared to city folk, maybe that's getting a bit outdated these days though.

Personally I won't be getting married for a long long time. Early thirties I think, young enough still but had time to enjoy life.

Suppose it just depends on the person tbh. It's their decision. However if it was me, I want to settle down in my 30's. I want to be able to enjoy my 20's.:)
