The show started off very well no shouting abuse at fighters or referees like the last show. I was very impressed with how the show was run even though it started two hours late, the fights were mostly Novice with some good kids fights and a 48year old having his first fight (some fella from Galway), it was the fight of the night (he won). I was impressed untill the round of the last fight, Price vs Whelan 75kg Title fight.The fighters were in a clinch, ref says "break", Price steps back then knocks out Whelan with high round house kick to the head. Whelan's fans then invade the ring and one of them takes a swing at Price. All hell breaks loose and bodys are everywhere, Price had to be escorted to safety, what a disgrace, poor children and familys had to see this maddness. It gives a terrible name to fighting sports.

Shame on the people that spoiled a good night.

The MMA fight that was promised never happened, just as well!

I'd like to say well done to the Promoter Pat Rockett but I'm not my kids were scared ****less and could of got hurt. I have already complained to Woodlands Hotel. Me or my family wont be attending one of these fiascos again.

i was also there with my son and yes the ring got invaded. but i dont blame pat rocket.

it looked more like a few people with a few to many drinks in them. whenever these shows are mixed with drink theres the few people walking round with the look that they would love a go off someone and they are usualy drunk.

all in all b4 all the **** that happend it was looking ok. fair play to the 48 year old.

Well i was also at this show yesterday, and it was a terrible shame for this to happen, when the night was going great, it defo wasn't two hours late, you must have forgot to put your clock back Tim.
I hope your not blaming Pat Rockett for what happened because Brian Cody wouldn't get the blame if there was in your words a fiasco in croke park and the pitch was invaded by Kilkenny supporters.
This is every promoters worst nightmare, these people come to an event like this once in a blue moon and disrupt a great night's entertainment and are never seen again, where as Pat will be looking to hold another show there soon as he holds about three every year, and is the only other promoter apart from myself that holds full contact martial arts shows in hotels in Waterford.
Any complaint you had, i think should have being raised with Pat first.
The last thing anyone interested in contact sports wants is for it to be black listed from hotels in Waterford.
Which is what could happen me when ask them to hold my next show there.
And I agree with you shame on those people for ruining such a good night but it was way beyond Pat's control.

I was at the show too yesterday and it was very sad to see what happened. I hope it doesn't ruin full contact sports in Waterford for the future. there has been so many great shows in the past and hopefully more for the future !

enjoyed the show ,they should lose the lights and the dry ice,wouldnt be happy personally getting into a ring full of smoke, poor kieth should retire he seems to be getting knocked out a lot lately.......what happened at the end was terrifying but it could of being a lot worse .....thank god nearly every bouncer in the town was there! any more then 10 fights is always way to much and the title fight should have been in the middle cause a lot of the crowd left before it and people may be less drunk and wound up ! poor peter foley was just after saying to me how nice the people are down here and they werent booing and stuff !:Dall kickboxing organisations should unify and start a leauge or something

One cant forsee that type of idiotic carry on at any promotion, but it happens and in hindsight security had it well in hand , this is a big plus for the planning that went into the promotion, as nothing was left to chance...

Well this kind of thing can happen, and does happen at the best & worse of all sporting events.

However guys, for Christ sake if your going to single out one guy for credit - the "48 eight year old" at least have the decency to remember his name for accreditation eh!.

A quick question, what did happen to the mma contest yesterday ?
John I think you forgot to mention Billy when you were talking about other promoters holding shows in hotels in Waterford. I actually think he is planning one for the new year.
Never know might even get in myself. This retirement thing is not all is cracked up to be !
