Limiting bandwidth?

Hey all, just wondering is it possible to limit bandwidth on certain devices on a LAN, I'm on 7mb BB at the moment, and, for example, would like to limit my PS3 to say 3mb, so it doesn't cause a bottleneck in my network whilst downloading a demo.

I'm using the bog standard Netopia 2247 from Eircom.
    Thanks

I'm not sure that you can do this on a netopia they are fairly basic units.
Zywall,Sonicwall,Linksys and lots more offer the ability to contol traffic by source IP and protocol.
Google and ebay should be able to pick one up fairly cheap to do the job.

You could alway install pfsense or monowall on an old pc and use that,
