Rust spots on club shafts

My clubs have rust spots on the shafts due to me rarely cleaning them. I have vowed to look after them better. Anybody got any recommendations on the best way to get rid of the rust spots though? Would a standard rust remover from Woodies do the job?

quick rub with a brillo pad will shine them right up.

Use a rolled up piece of tinfoil dipped in vinegar.

That would be too coarse......use 000 or 0000 steel wool (not the standard stuff in shops as it's 00 grade).

Aluminun foil will also work - vinegar or lemon juice would help.

When you get the rust out you should use a car wax or a regular application of vaseline.

However if the rust is bad then it may come back.

A rub with a damp one of these will do the trick. I used them last week on my irons & they came up brand new & no pink brillo pad gunk on them either.
