Garmin 705 Dodgy HR readings

Just wondering if anyone else has had HR reading on their 705 go crazy. Anytime it happened before, well with intermittent readings has always been sorted by wetting the HR strap sensors but this evening it read consistently, no drop outs, but with some really loo lah values, but otherwise spot on in parts.

Had me going down the usual 60km/ph descent near the house, starting off at a regular 115 bpm, and right before a tricky lil' bend it read 33bpm !!! I must be getting totally chilled out on the ol' descents !!

A few more places on the flats show 65bpm at 38km/ph, yeah right !

Yet the killer climb at the end was the same as always.

So it clearly is total BS readings in parts, but what puzzles me is the fact that some parts are spot on whilst others are fecked.

I had that on my 305 when the battery was needing replaced if that helps.

+1 low battery in the chest strap.

As an aside I can get crazy high readings sometimes in windy conditions (250 BPM sort of thing.)

Cheers Guys, totally overlooked the bleedin' obvious !

    I haven't change it in over a year ! :o

Been to preoccupied with that pesky cadence sensor which I found out last week had a cracked casing, explains why there was no reading on wet days.

I've got the 705 now, and the cadence sensor has packed up. Apparently there are some issues with them, I contacted Garmin online and they are replacing mine without question.

    Maybe worth you trying it...;)!!

One of my cadence sensors has also packed up, I mean to get on to them about that. Their warranty support is generally very good, they sent me a new HR strap before no questions and didn't need the old one back.
