Why does mobile broadband seem to be so fast in the shop

I have been told that a mobile carrier has recently installed a number of these units in its shops .

This means that when they demonstrate their mobile broadband the speeds are fantastic ...because nobody else is using the 'capacity' in that cell.

If you want to research it yourself then note the 3g signal on your phone about 20 metres from the front door of the shop before you go in. Also walk up and down outside and see if the signal changes upwards as you walk past the front of the shop .

If the signal improves dramatically AFTER you enter the shop and close the door then you may be certain that the service is coming from one of those Picocells.

Naturally Comreg will do nothing. You have been warned !!!
