I have about 5 days to spend travelling around India, having already spend time in Calcutta, does anybody have any recommendations as to where to go/stay or what to see?

We are then going to be flying to thialand in july...which would be the best airport to fly to?We have 3weeks to spend in Thialand, and want to spend a lot of time by the beach resorts?Does anybody have any recommendations about which resorts to visit, where to stay, or how to divide our time when we are over there?

    Koh Tao is a must.

Pictures on a website don't do it justice. There's no place on earth like it.

For India head north to Varanasi or Darjeeling. Lovely little places. I'm not the best person to speak on Thailand, I found it to be very Costa Del Solish.

We stayed in Bo Phut resort and spa :) on Koh Samui. Unbelievable place. Rent a car. Do day trips to Anthong Park, snorkeling, ride an elephant etc . Learn to dive on Koh Tao. Koh Tao is too small to spend all your time there. We choose Bo Phut area because its quieter than Chaweng.

5 Days are very less for India. I would recommend flying to New Delhi. You would need 2-3 days to explore old & New Delhi. Then you can travel to Agra to see Tajmahal (only 4 hours train journey from Delhi). If time permits you can go to Jaipur (6 hours train journey from Delhi.)

East Coast Islands in Thailand arethe best at that time of the year. Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan and Koh Tao. Was there is June this year. Stayed on both Koh Samui and Pha Ngan. Look at the Panviman on Koh Pha ngan. Amazing value. Stunningly beautiful. Also if you are going there, make sure you get a speedboat transfer to the resort. Otherwise you be on a slow dodgy passenger ferry for over an hour followed by an hour in a bus on dirt track roads, whereas the speedboat takes 30 minutes and brings you to the beach of the resort. On samui, we stayed in the Sarann resort, it is new, was only open about 6 months when we were there. its just outside chaweng but close enough to get a tuk tuk in. Check out the italian restaurant in the Amari Palm reef hotel if your on samui. its fairly famous. amazing food!
