Wondering if anyone has any tips regarding travel with golf clubs to the US. There are three of us all with golf gear flying to Orlando with Aer Lingus in January (hope they are still in business!). Does it make sense to try and pack the gear for all of us into two travel bags? Seems this will save €80 ie €40 each way . is there a weight restriction on sports gear?

We (4 of us) brought golf clubs to the US with Aer Lingus inSept 08 and had no problems. They did not (at the time!!) charge for sports goods like they do on European flights etc. The golf bags are considered as your 2nd check in bag and so are subject to the same weight restrictions etc. Best to check out the Aer Lingus website and your booking email for up to date rules!
